Manohar Parrikar bans import of fish in Goa
On Twitter, Parrikar said "plenty of fresh fish will be available to Goans."
NEW DELHI: On Wednesday, Manohar Parrikar announced a ban on import of fish in Goa for next 15 day.
He took on Twitter and said "In the interest of people of Goa, have issued directions to ban the import of fish in Goa for next 15 days. Fishing activity in Goa will resume in the month of August, hence plenty of fresh fish will be available to Goans."
Goa CM also told that fishing activity in Goa will resume in the month of August. Mr Parrikar told a press conference said "A formal notification will be issued by evening. The decision has been taken as a measure of abundant caution,". This comes in the wake of a controversy over the use of formalin in fish consignments.In the interest of people of Goa, have issued directions to ban import of fish in Goa for next 15 days. Fishing activity in Goa will resume in the month of August, hence plenty of fresh fish will be available to Goans.
