Taking to X, Congress leader KC Venugopal said, "As a mark of respect for the departed former Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh ji, all official programmes of the Indian National Congress, including the Foundation Day celebrations stand canceled for the next seven days."
"This includes all the agitational and outreach programs. Party programmes will resume on 3rd January, 2025. The party flag will be flown at half mast during this period of mourning," he added.
Former PM Manmohan Singh's mortal remains will be brought to 3 Janpath from AIIMS Delhi late night.
According to sources, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is present at Manmohan Singh's residence. She has been there since half an hour. Earlier today, she had visited AIIMS Delhi, where the former PM took his last breath.

Singh, who served as the Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014, retired from the Rajya Sabha earlier this year, ending his political career in the Upper House after 33 years. He had entered the Rajya Sabha after he was named the Finance Minister in the PV Narasimha Rao-led government in 1991.
He was a Rajya Sabha member from Assam for five consecutive terms, starting from October 1, 1991, to June 14, 2019. He was elected again to the House from Rajasthan following a short gap. He was a member from Rajasthan since August 20, 2019, and his term ended on April 3.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had lauded Singh's role as a member of the upper house and highlighted that his contributions would never be forgotten. He made these remarks during the retirement of the Rajya Sabha members earlier this year.
While ending his iconic budget speech in Parliament in July 1991, Singh had said, "No power on earth can stop an idea whose time has come. I suggest to this august House that the emergence of India as a major economic power in the world happens to be one such idea".
Manmohan Singh was born on September 26, 1932, in Gah village which is now Pakistan's Punjab province.
