Madhya Pradesh Police Say 2 Poachers Shot, 2 Arrested After Guna Incident That Killed 3 Policemen
Two people have been killed instead of four, while two more were arrested. Search is underway for three others who are absconding, Superintendent of Police, Rajiv Kumar Mishra said.
New Delhi: While denying claims of an encounter in retaliation by Madhya Pradesh Police over the death of the three cops, Superintendent of Police Rajiv Kumar Mishra on Sunday said that two poachers were shot dead, and two were arrested, however, the search for those absconding is on, ANI reported. Three policemen were shot dead in the incident in the early hours of Saturday. Speaking to ANI, the SP said that the search for the absconding poachers is on and they will be nabbed soon.
"Two people have been killed instead of four, while two more were arrested. Search is underway for three others who're absconding. Our parties have nearly reached them. They will be nabbed soon. One among the killed was shot by the police during a retaliatory fire in the forest yesterday evening. He was involved in the gunfire incident," ANI quoted Mishra.

Home Minister of the state, Narottam Mishra said that the culprits will be arrested soon and will face strict action.
The Shivraj Singh Chouhan government announced an ex-gratia of Rs 1 crore each to the families of the martyred policemen.
"They will be given the status of martyrs and Rs 1 crore each will be given to their families. One member of each of their families will be given a government job. The government will ensure that the last rites of those who were killed will be held with full honour," said Chouhan, ANI reported.
The state government, after the incident, decided to remove the Inspector-General of Gwalior because he reached the spot late.
