Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Portfolios: Scindia Camp Bags Key Departments; See Who Got What?

Discontented with the grand old party, Gwalior royal Jyotiraditya Scindia had resigned from Congress in March this year.

New Delhi: Almost two weeks after being inducted in the cabinet, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister on Monday allotted the respective portfolios to the 28 ministers. Earlier this month on July 2, as many as 28 ministers were inducted in the Singh Chouhan's cabinet, of which 20 took oath as cabinet ministers while the rest 8 as MoS. On Monday, CM divided the ministries where the top ones were swept away by the Jyotiraditya Scindia team, who had recently shifted his ship from Congress to the Bharatiya Janata Party. While tendering his resignation to Congress interim Cheif Sonia Gandhi, Scindia said that "as you well know this is a path that has been drawing itself out over the last year." In his letter, he further went on to say, "While my aim and purpose remain the same as it had always been from the very beginning to serve the people of my state and country, I believe I am unable to do this anymore within this party." It must be noted that when Jyotiraditya Scindia switched party, 8 ministers had also left the Kamalnath government. Scindia was insisting on at least six persons to be included from among the 22 who joined the BJP last month. Of these, initially, two were appointed as ministers in the Shivraj government, and later six other names were added to the Scindia camp.
