Lucknow Covid Deaths: Congress Shares Video Of Tin Wall Covering Baikunth Dham To Hide Mass Funeral

Several videos posted online and shared by Congress leaders on Thursday showed men erecting the tin sheet wall around the crematorium.

Lucknow Covid Deaths: Horrific visuals from the Lucknow crematorium with pyres piling up resulting in endless funeral fires and a huge number of alleged Covid deaths shocked every citizen of the country. Visuals shared by Netizens shocked everyone to their core. People took to social media and shared videos claiming that the deaths were caused because of shortage of beds in hospitals, no proper treatment, and no oxygen availability.

A PTI report said that on Wednesday afternoon, there were 124 bodies at Baikunth Dham and Gullala Ghat, according to crematorium staff. The figures were 120 and 130 on Tuesday and Monday.

Usually, around 20 bodies are cremated at Baikunth Dham and 10 at Gullala Ghat. While people were still terrified about the unsilent scenes of Lucknow crematorium another row erupted claiming that a wall was built outside the Baikunth Dham crematorium to hide the reality of the Lucknow funeral fires. Netizens shared visuals of the wall construction alleging that workers were seen tying up the metal sheets, often found at construction sites, a day after the report of dead bodies piling up in crematoriums came to light.

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also shared a video of the wall construction and tweeted in Hindi, saying, "There is a request from the Government of Uttar Pradesh: Putting our time, resources and energy into hiding, suppressing this tragedy is futile. Take concrete steps to prevent the epidemic, save lives and prevent the spread of infection. This is the call of the hour."

Other Congress leaders also shared the same video claiming that BJP has built the tin wall to cover Bhainsakund cremation site to hid the mass funeral fire.

A report by NDTV stated that along with the sheets, a new notice put up outside the crematorium announced that unauthorised people were now no longer allowed to enter since it was a "COVID-19 affected area". Trespassers have been warned of strict action.

After the video of the alleged covering up of the crematorium surfaced, many compared it to the wall that was constructed in Ahmadabad last year ahead of the visit of Donald Trump to block the slums from his view.

Lucknow now has over 31,000 active COVID-19 cases, 10 times more than what they were just two weeks ago.

Last evening, Uttar Pradesh reported a massive 20,510 new COVID-19 infections, its highest figure in a 24-hour period
