LPG Cylinder Prices Raised Twice In 15 Days By Rs 25. Here Are The Latest City Rates

The domestic cooking gas prices have become more than double in the last seven years with the price of domestic gas at Rs 410.5 per 14.2 kg cylinder in 2014.

LPG cylinder prices have been hiked again

New Delhi: In line with the expectations of a price hike, non-subsidised Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) domestic cylinders became costlier by Rs 25 apiece on Wednesday. After the latest revision, a domestic cylinder (14.2 kilograms) would now cost Rs 884.50 apiece in Delhi, according to the news agency ANI.

This is the second hike in a span of 15 days after the cooking gas price was raised by Rs25 per cylinder on August 18. In July, prices witnessed a hike of Rs25.50. The price of a 19 kg commercial cylinder has also increased by Rs 75 per cylinder.

The price of 14.2 kg LPG cylinder in the financial capital Mumbai is Rs 884.5 compared to the previous Rs859.50. In Chennai, you will have to pay Rs 900.50 from earlier Rs 875.50.

An LPG cylinder in Lucknow will cost you Rs 897.5 from Wednesday.

What’s the year-to-date rise in cooking gas cylinders so far?

Between January 1 and September 1, the price of cooking gas cylinders has witnessed a rise of Rs 190. The government proposed subsidies on LPG gets eliminated by increasing rates on a monthly basis. Domestic cooking gas prices have become more than doubled in the last seven years, as per the business publication Mint. In 2014, the domestic gas stood at Rs 410.5 per 14.2-kg cylinder.

Cut in diesel, petrol rate

After petrol and diesel prices maintained the same level in the last few days, fuel prices witnessed a reduction in price by 13-15 paise. Petrol in Delhi is being sold at Rs 101.34 whereas in Mumbai, it’s Rs 107.39 per litre. Diesel price in Delhi stands at Rs 88.77 per litre and in Mumbai, it’s costing Rs 96.33 per litre.
