LPG Cylinder Price Hike: Rate Of Domestic Cooking Gas Increased By Rs 50. Check New Price

Earlier this month, the government had raised the price of commercial LPG cylinder by Rs 105.

New Delhi: In yet another dent to the pocket of the common man, the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder has been increased by Rs 50 with effect from today. This applies to 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinders only. With the latest revision, a domestic cylinder will now cost Rs 999.50, reported news agency ANI.

The hike in price comes at a time when the entire country is struggling with increase in petrol and diesel prices. And the new price of the domestic LPG cylinders will only add to the burden.

Earlier this month, the government had raised the price of commercial LPG cylinder by Rs 105. A 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder in the national capital now costs Rs 2,355.5. The price of a 5-kg LPG commercial cylinder was also increased, which costs Rs 655.

In April too, rate of commercial cooking gas was increased by Rs 250 per cylinder to Rs 2,253.

Prices of petroleum products like diesel, LPG and petrol have been on a constant rise for the last few months. According to experts, crude oil prices in the international market have increased due to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, forcing the government to take such measures.

After the assembly elections in five states, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Manipur and Goa, got over in March, prices of petrol, diesel, and LPG increased continuously. On March 22, the government increased subsidised domestic LPG cylinder by Rs 50. From October 6 until March 21 there was no hike in the rate of domestic LPG cylinders.
