Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi Hits Out At Raj Thackeray, Calls Him 'Cheap Copy' Of Balasahab

In her tweet, Priyanka Chaturvedi hits out at Raj Thackeray for trying to draw comparisons with the Sena founder Balasahab.

New Delhi: After Maharashtra Navnirman Sena ( MSN) chief Raj Thackeray released an old video of Shiv Sena founder Balasahab Thackeray on his twitter handle Wednesday in which he is heard opposing the use of loudspeakers at religious places and Muslims offering namaz (prayers) on the streets, Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi shared another video of the Sena founder on the micro-blogging site, and called the MNS chief  "a cheap copy" of Balasaheb Thackeray.

In her tweet, Priyanka Chaturvedi hits out at Raj Thackeray for trying to draw comparisons with the Sena founder Balasahab. Terming Balasaheb Thackeray 'the original', the Sena MP wrote, "For all the cheap copies, a lesson: People who copy will always be not just one step, but several steps behind."

In the video, Bal Thackeray can be seen critisising the MNS chief from imitating him and his political ideas.

Translated into English from Marathi, Blasahab can be heard saying, "I am told somebody is speaking in my style... style is alright but do you have any ideology? Simply yelling Marathi Marathi will not help. Before you all were born, I had picked the issue in Maharashtra."

The loudspeaker controversy became an MNS versus Shiv Sena soon after Raj Thackeray posted the Balasaheb video in a message indicating he is the ideological heir of his uncle and the Sena founder.

According to political analysts, Raj Thackeray is looking to revive his career and is therefore resorting to measures of hard Hindutva. Recently, he had posed in a trademark Bal Thackeray attire on social media.

Meanwhile, the MNS chief has vowed to carry on with his campaign against loudspeakers at mosques and other religious places.

"It's not only about mosques, there are several temples where illegal loudspeakers are running. I have already made it clear that it's (illegal loudspeakers) not a religious issue but a social issue...We want peace in the state. What actions you're (police) taking on those 135 mosques that violated SC guidelines today. You (police) are only taking action against our workers," said Raj Thackeray Wednesday, as reported by ANI.
