New Delhi: After the seat-sharing pact was finalised between the Samajwadi Party and Congress in Uttar Pradesh, SP supremo Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday announced he will join Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Naya Yatra and Congress programme which is to be held in Agra. "We will attend the yatra (Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra). Soon their (Congress) program will be held in Agra, and I will attend it," ANI quoted Yadav as saying.






I.N.D.I alliance partner SP has offered 17 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh to the Congress to take on the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024. Ending the postulations about seat-sharing, Congress UP in-charge Avinash Pande confirmed on Wednesday that the grand old party will contest 17 seats in the state, while the SP and other parties will contest from 63 seats.


"I am delighted to tell you that it has been decided that in Uttar Pradesh the INC will contest on 17 seats and the remaining 63 seats will have candidates of INDIA Alliance - from SP and other parties," Pande said, ANI reported.


Major Seats SP Offers to Congress In UP


As per the PTI reports, the Congress is likely to get Kanpur, Varanasi, Saharanpur, Amroha, Fatehpur Sikri, and Jhansi among others. In the Moradabad division, the Congress was seeking two seats but has agreed on Amroha. As per the arrangement finalised between Priyanka Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav, the Congress has also secured constituencies such as Sitapur and Barabanki.
