Lockdown Rules Moulded For Ashok Chavan: PWD Minister Travels In Ambulance From Nanded To Mumbai After Contracting Covid-19
Chavan's incident become more questionable as he chose to shift to Mumbai at a time when Maharashtra has witnessed maximum number of Covid-19 contractions across the country.
Guidelines of Covid-19 are fairly simple: Stay at home. Avoid meeting people outside your household and in case you have to go out, wear a mask and maintain six feet distance. But some lawmakers who made the rules, themselves forgot it. They told us to stay at home, then went out!
Hours after Maharashtra PWD Minister Ashok Chavan was tested positive for the novel Coronavirus in Maharashtra's Nanded district, several media reports stated that the minister is now being shifted to Mumbai for better treatment. As per reports, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) leader is being shifted to the Mumbai in a special cardiac ambulance which is most likely to reach the city by Monday night.
While leaving for Mumbai from Nanded, Chavan was captured by media as he was seen being accompanied by several medical staffs and was waving at people while boarding the ambulance. However, it is still not clear if Chavan's ambulance had movement permission by the district administration or not.
The senior Congress leader's condition has been describe as asymptomatic and till now he was undergoing treatment in his hometown Nanded. At a time when the entire country is under lockdown and movements have been restricted to prevent further spread of the deadly virus, one after another such incidents of ministers flouting norms are coming to light.

Chavan's incident become more questionable as he chose to shift to Mumbai at a time when Maharashtra has witnessed maximum number of Covid-19 contractions across the country. Instead of breaking lockdown norms, ministers in power should rather abide by the law and encourage citizens to follow the same.
Chavan is notably second prominent minister of the Uddhav Thackeray-led Maharashtra government to contract the deadly virus. Earlier last month, Housing Minister Jitendra Awhad was also diagnosed with Covid-19. He was fully cured and discharged after nearly a month’s treatment in a hospital in Mumbai.
In a somewhat similar incident, Union Minister Sadananda Gowda was seen flouting quarantine rules earlier in the day. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Karnataka took a domestic flight from Bengaluru to Delhi and instead of moving to a compulsory institutional quarantine, he straight away got into his car and drove to his residence.
What came as a shocker was his irresponsible statement about the incident where is told media that he is a minister and thus he is exempted from certain clauses that are applicable to the masses.

"Guidelines are applicable to all citizens, but there are certain exemption clauses, for those who hold certain responsible posts," Gowda told news agency ANI on being asked why he did not undergo institutional quarantine after air travel.
Even BJP Delhi President Manoj Tiwari followed the flouting suit and traveled from Delhi to Sonipat in Haryana, to attend ‘personal’ work and was seen flouting all the precautions for coronavirus while playing a cricket match at a local stadium.
As per the visuals that came out earlier in the day, Tiwari was seen playing cricket without any masks or attention to social distancing norms in Sheikhpura Unique Cricket Stadium, Gannaur, Sonipat where players were engaged in practice sessions.
Later on the BJP leader was seen in close proximity to a crowd as he entertained them by singing his famous Bhojpuri song ‘Rinkiya ke Papa’.
