Kerala: Video Of Boy Raising Provocative Slogans In PFI March Goes Viral, Police Launch Probe
The PFI officials said that the said slogan was not among the official set of slogans so they prevented it as and when the volunteers noticed it.
New Delhi: The Kerala Police on Monday said that they have initiated a probe against a viral video in which a boy could be seen raising provocative slogans allegedly in a march by Popular Front of India (PFI), reported news agency ANI.
“The video came to our notice yesterday only and we are examining where this happened,” said the police, quoted by the news agency.
The video of a boy raising provocative slogans allegedly in a PFI march is being circulated on social media.
In the said video, the boy could be heard raising the slogan that “Hindus should keep rice for their last rites and Christians should keep incense for their last rites. If you live decently you can live in our land and if you don’t live decently properly, we know azadi (freedom). Live decently, decently, decently.”
The video further shows the crowd repeating the slogans.
Responding to the incident, the PFI officials said that they had a march in Alappuzha on Saturday and they had a set of official slogans. “This slogan was not among them,” they said, adding that “a lot of workers from various places attended the march.”
“When volunteers noticed this slogan, they prevented raising that slogan,” the PFI officials further said.
PFI spokesperson Rauf Pittambi said that the slogan was not raised at the organisation's conference but during the rally where thousands of people participated and added that slogans were not raised against Hindus or Christians but Hindutva terror and fascists, reported India Today.
“Many raised slogans against Hindutva terror. This boy also raised slogans. We regret few lines of the slogans and will look into it. His slogans were not against Hindus or Christians but against Hindutva terrorists planning genocide,” said Rauf Pattambi.
