KCR Vows To Fight Against BJP's 'Harassment' Of BRS Leaders As Daughter Kavitha Set To Appear Before ED

As Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter K Kavitha is set to appear before ED on Saturday in the Delhi excise policy case, KCR has vowed to fight against the BJP’s 'harassment' of BRS leaders.

New Delhi: Amid the ongoing investigation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) into alleged links of Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter K Kavitha in the Delhi excise policy case, CM KCR has now vowed to fight against the BJP’s alleged harassment of BRS leaders, reported PTI.

Addressing a joint meeting of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MPs, MLAs and other leaders on Friday, a day ahead of his daughter and party MLC K Kavitha's scheduled appearance before the ED, he alleged that the BJP was harassing state ministers, party MPs and others with false allegations.

"Our struggle will continue till BJP is ousted from (power) in the country," BRS sources quoted him as saying, reported PTI.

As per the report, BRS President Rao alleged that the saffron party was unable to digest the progress achieved in Telangana by BRS.

BRS leader and daughter of KCR’s daughter K Kavitha will be questioned by the ED on Saturday in the Delhi liquor policy case. Former Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia has been arrested by the investigation agency in the same case.

K Kavitha, who was to meet ED on Thursday, skipped her questioning citing her hunger strike in Delhi on Friday seeking the introduction of the Women's Reservation Bill in the current Budget session of Parliament. The agency had agreed.

ED on Friday told the court that there was a conspiracy behind framing the excise policy adding that the conspiracy was coordinated by Vijay Nair, along with others and the Excise policy was brought out for extraordinary profit margin for wholesalers, reported ANI. The federal agency apprised the court about the meeting between Vijay Nair and BRS leader K Kavitha.

KCR Preparing For Assembly Polls

Telangana will go to polls later this year and preparations are on for the high intense political battle in the state. KCR told party MPs and MLAs on Friday that a 125-ft tall statue of BR Ambedkar would be unveiled on Ambedkar birth anniversary on April 14, reported PTI.

He said that a huge public meeting will be held at NTR Stadium in the city with Dalits participating in large numbers.

Rao further added that the new Secretariat building would be inaugurated on April 30, while the grand memorial being built in memory of those who sacrificed their lives for the sake of Telangana statehood demand would be inaugurated on June 1, PTI quoted the CM as saying.

Rao also instructed the public representatives to organise get-together events with party activists suggesting that the public representatives should meet people as much as possible.
