Kanpur: Couple molested, threatened and forced to take vows as 'brother-sister' in name of moral policing

Though the faces of the accused can be clearly seen in the video; the cops have not made any arrests so far.

Uttar Pradesh: A shocking incident has come to light from Kanpur where a couple was molested in the name of ‘moral policing’ by a group of men; when they were roaming around in a park. The incident which was caught in a camera shows a couple’s way being obstructed by a group of men, who lash out at them, threaten and warn them and thereafter; molest them. They further force the girl to tie a rakhi on the wrist of her friend and also force her to take a vow saying, “From now onward I have only brotherly relation with this man." The men further threaten the man to not repeat this again and said “if you want to do this, then do it with girls of your religion.” Though the faces of the accused can be clearly seen in the video; the cops have not made any arrests so far. Speaking on the incident Congress spokesperson Akhilesh Pratap Singh said, “They think they are responsible for fixing law and order. If a strict action is not taken, the jungle raj will turn into maha jungle raj”. BJP on other hand assured action against the culprit, saying “Cops will investigate the case and will identify the faces of the accused”. He further said that if someone creates disturbance in the name of ‘jai shree ram,’ we would take strict action against such people”.
