Kamlesh Tiwari Murder: CM Yogi Meets Family Of Victim In Lucknow; Assures Justice
Adityanath on Saturday said that killers of Kamlesh Tiwari will be brought to book.
New Delhi: The family of the deceased leader Hindu Mahasabha leader Kamlesh Tiwari, met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday with a charter of demands.
The family has sought strict punishment for the killers, security and arms licenses for all the family members, adequate compensation for the family, a government job for Satyam Tiwari, the eldest son of the deceased, and also a house for the family.
They also demanded installation of Kamlesh Tiwari's statue in Lucknow and renaming of Khurshid Bagh as Kamlesh Bagh.
In a related development, a local Shiv Sena leader, Arun Pathak has announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh for anyone who beheads Tiwari's killers. In a video message, Pathak said that merely arresting the assailants was not enough. "I will sell my property and all my assets. If I fall short of money, I will seek donations from Hindus to reward Rs 1 lakh to anyone who beheads the killers," he is heard as saying.
The chief minister offered condolences to the family and assured that justice would be done to them.
Adityanath on Saturday said that killers of Kamlesh Tiwari will be brought to book.
"Whosoever will create an atmosphere of fear will be dealt with severely. Any such incident will not be tolerated. Anyone found involved in Kamlesh Tiwari will not be spared," Adityanath was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
Tiwari was the former leader of Hindu Mahasabha and had founded the Hindu Samaj Party.
After being attacked, the leader was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to injuries. The assailants managed to flee the spot. A revolver was also recovered from the site of the crime.
The Uttar Pradesh government will provide security to the family and a licensed weapon to the eldest son for self-defence. Mukesh Meshram, Lucknow divisional commissioner after meeting the family of deceased in Sitapur also assured a job for the eldest son and appropriate financial help to the family.
On the other hand, Three people have been held by a joint team of Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat Police in connection with the murder of Tiwari from Surat.

The Uttar Pradesh police which is scrupulously probing the case of slain Hindu Samaj Party leader Kamlesh Tiwari, has identified the two assailants who shot Tiwari dead on Friday, sources have claimed.
Footage from more than 60 cameras have been dug up by the police, and the shooters are visible in 25 footage.
The assailants, Moinuddin Pathan and Ashfaq Hussain, had checked into the hotel at 10 p.m. on October 18 using their original IDs and checked out the same day at 1.30 p.m., an hour after killing Tiwari.
“We have contacted Gujarat and Maharashtra ATS. Our team has also spoken to the woman who was seen in the CCTV footage. All aspects of the case are being probed,” UP DGP OP Singh said.
Tiwari was shot dead at his residence in Lucknow by some unidentified persons on Friday afternoon. The family of the victim had said that he had received a death threat in 2016.
