Delhi Court Grants Gangster Kala Jatheri Custody Parole For 6 Hours To Get Married

Gangster Sandeep alias Kala Jatheri, has been granted custody parole for 6 hours by Delhi's Dwarka court to get married.

A Delhi court granted custody parole to gangster Sandeep alias Kala Jatheri, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, to get married. According to an ANI report, Delhi's Dwarka Court granted him custody parole of six hours on March 12 for the ceremony in the national capital and ‘Grih Pravesh’ which will be on March 13 in Sonipat, Haryana.

The court has directed the authorities to take Kala Jatheri for marriage in custody on March 12 between 10 AM to 4 PM and directed Delhi police to make arrangements for security and safety. The court also directed the police to take Jatheri to his village on March 13 for the Grih Pravesh ceremony between 10 AM and 1 PM.

Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Deepak Wason granted the relief after considering the submissions made by the counsel representing Kala Jatheri and reviewing the reply filed by the Delhi Police.

Kala Jatheri requested custody parole on humanitarian grounds to attend his marriage ceremony, which has been arranged by his family members and is scheduled to take place on March 12 at approximately 10:00 AM. The Grih Pravesh Ceremony is scheduled for March 13, 2024, at around 11:00 AM at Village Jatheri, Sonipat, Haryana, where the bride and groom will enter their matrimonial home together.

Applications filed by advocate Rohit Dalal argued that the right to marriage has been recognised as a constitutional right under Article 21. It was stated that both the applicant or accused and his fiancee are of legal age as stipulated by the provisions of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955. It was further submitted that the denial of marriage to the applicant/accused would cause prejudice and violate Article 21 of the Constitution of India, ANI reported. 

There is nobody in the home to look after the mother of the accused as his father is also bedridden, the plea stated.

He was arrested in 2021, he had carried a reward of Rs 7 lakh on his arrest. The Delhi Police's special cell arrested him in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, approximately 200 kilometres away from the national capital.

According to the police, Sandeep was wanted in numerous cases of extortion, murder, and other serious offences across Delhi, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Haryana. Furthermore, the Delhi Police worked in conjunction with the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) to address the issue involving Jatheri.
