Two days after the 100th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Mann Ki Baat' programme, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee took a dig at him saying that the project was just a means to "fool people".
"In the name of 'Mann ki Baat', BJP fools people with 'jhoot ki baat' [lies]," CM Banerjee said. "The BJP makes promises before every election and forgets them after polls," she was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.

Continuing her efforts to bring all Opposition parties on a single platform ahead of the 2024 polls, she urged all Opposition parties to join hands. "I urge all opposition parties to come together to defeat the BJP in 2024 polls," CM Banerjee said.
Banerjee on April 24 met Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav. At the joint press conference after the meeting, Banerjee gave a crystal clear agenda that they want 'BJP to become zero' and that there's no 'personal ego' in between. Banerjee also requested an all-party meeting in Patna to discuss opposition unity ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections after meeting with Nitish Kumar and his deputy Tejashwi Yadav in Kolkata on April 24.
"I have made just one request to Nitish Kumar. Jayaprakash ji's movement started from Bihar. If we have an all-party meeting in Bihar, we can then decide where we have to go next. But first of all, we have to give a message that we are united. I have said earlier too that I have no objections. I want BJP to become zero. They have become a big hero with media's support and lies," the Bengal CM said.
Banerjee earlier met her counterpart from Odisha Naveen Patnaik, former Karnataka CM HD Kumarawamy, and former Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav.
