J&K: Grenade Attack On Security Forces On Diwali Eve In Srinagar; 6 Personnel Injured
One of the injured jawans is in a critical situation, while five are said to be out of danger.
New Delhi: On the eve of Diwali, a grenade attack was launched on the security forces by terrorists in Kakasarai area of Karan Nagar in Sringar, Jammu and Kashmir, injuring six CRPF jawans .

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) team was manning a checkpoint when the grenade attack took place. Terrorists lobbed a grenade at the troops near Karan Nagar police station and then opened fire.
The attack took place at around 200 metres from Karan Nagar police station.
The firing was retaliated by the troops.
Firing from both the sides continued for 15 minutes.
“Unknown terrorists lobbed grenade upon PS followed by firing which was promptly retaliated by SF troops at approx 1850 Hrs,” police informed.
“6 Personnel of B/144 CRPF received injuries and evacuated to hospital,” they said.
The area has been cordoned off and search operations have been launched as the terrorists are suspected to be hiding in the same area.
