New Delhi: In a horrific incident of street brutality, a video showing two men thrashing up an autorickshaw publicly has surfaced on social media. The video which is from Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur shows men mercilessly beating the already near-dead driver, prompting the police to book the accused on attempt to murder charge on Monday The violence took place after a road rage incident when the auto-rickshaw hit a scooter. The incident took place around 4.15 pm on Sunday under the Adhartal police station area. In the viral video, the accused, Abhishek Dubey and Chandan Singh, were seen allegedly beating up autorickshaw driver Ajit Vishwakarma, leaving him seriously injured. The duo took out iron materials kept in the autorickshaw and used them to hit the driver. The video shows the men dragging the driver by his hair and pushing him on the ground. One of the man lifted a heavy-duty iron plate lying there and hit the victim with it with full force, leaving him unconscious. He didn’t stop there and continued assaulting the driver. Watch: They have been booked on attempt to murder charge and a search was on to arrest them, Additional Superintendent of Police (North) Agam Jain said. ASP Jain said the autorickshaw driver, too, has been booked for rash driving.
