According to the Union Ministry of Home and Family Affairs, a total of 1,69,797 people have recovered from the deadly Coronavirus. In the past 24 hours itself, as many as 7,419 Covid-19 patients were cured.
With this, India's recovery rate rises to 51.08 per cent, which is indicative of the fact that more than half of positive cases have recovered from the disease.
Meanwhile, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said that the testing capacity for detecting the novel Coronavirus in infected persons is continuously being ramped up. The number of government labs has been increased to 653 and private labs has been increased to 248 (a total of 901). In the last 24 hours, 1,15,519 samples were tested. The total number of samples tested thus far is 57,74,133.
Amid the evolving situation, a lot of messages are going viral on social media that lockdown will extend from 18th June. However, clearing the air several state governments including Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat have announced that there are no such plans of extending the lockdown.

Chief Minister said that these are mere speculations of the people as the state government has made no such plans. "Many people are speculating whether another lockdown in Delhi is being planned. There are no such plans," Arvind Kejriwal tweeted on Monday afternoon.
Similarly, the Chief Minister of Gujarat Vijay Rupani also quashed the rumors over lockdown extension and announced that the government has no plans to impose another lockdown in the state.
The worst-hit states Maharashtra has also announced that there will be no further lockdown in the states. Maharashtra Chief Minister, Uddhav Thackrey said, “News such as these create confusion in society, forwarding and posting these kinds of false reports on social media is a crime.”
