Indian Army Celebrates International Yoga Day At An Altitude Of 15,000 Feet In Ladakh

International Yoga Day was started 6 years ago by Prime Minister Modi to make every Indian citizen healthy.

Ladakh: It is essential to practice yoga every day to keep our body healthy 21 June is celebrated as International Yoga Day every year. The special thing is that celebrating this day on 21st June started from India. People from all over the country practice yoga on this day. International Yoga day was celebrated for the first time on 21 June 2015. Yoga is considered very beneficial for the human body and mind. By doing yoga, people can avoid many illnesses, which in turn adds years to their life.

On this occasion, Indian soldiers performed yoga from all across the country. The Indo-Tibetan Border Police practiced yoga on the banks of Pangong Tso lake in Ladakh. Also, ITBP personnel of Arunachal Pradesh Animal Training School, Lohitpur performed yoga asanas with horses.

Moreover, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police soldiers performed yoga at an altitude of 18,000 feet in Ladakh, especially for this occasion. CRPF jawans also practiced yoga in Jammu. ITBP personnel performed yoga at an altitude of 15,000 feet near a border outpost in Ladakh.

The theme of 2021 Yoga Day is 'Yoga for Wellness'. The last year's theme was 'Yoga for Health - Yoga at Home' as Covid-19 forced everyone to stay at home.

United Nations General Assembly made the declaration

International Yoga day is celebrated worldwide on 21 June every year. On 11 December 2014, the United Nations General Assembly decided as well that every year 21 June will be celebrated as International Yoga Day.
