'India Heading Towards Crisis Is Matter Of Concern For Those Devoted To Constitution': PM Modi

On the anniversary of the 26/11 terrorist attacks in Mumbai, PM Modi also paid tribute to all brave soldiers of the country who sacrificed their lives while fighting the terrorists

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the celebrations of Constitution Day organised at the central hall of the Parliament. PM Modi addressed the event and said that Constitution Day is the day to salute the parliament, where many of India's leaders brainstormed to give us the Constitution of India.

The Prime Minister also paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and all those who fought during India's independence struggle. He further said, "Our Constitution binds our diverse country. It was drafted after many hindrances and united the princely states in the country."

PM Modi also paid tribute to those who lost their lives in 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks and to the bravehearts who fought with the terrorists.

He said, "today on the anniversary of the 26/11 terrorist attacks in Mumbai, I pay tribute to all brave soldiers of the country who sacrificed their lives while fighting the terrorists."

Taking a jibe a Congress, PM Modi said, "Party for the family, by the family...do I need to say more? If a party is run by one family for many generations, then, it isn't good for a healthy democracy, says PM Modi during an address at the Parliament.

He further said that India is heading towards a crisis which is a matter of concern for those who are devoted to the Constitution and believe in democracy and the issue is parties promoting nepotism and thinking only about the welfare of their families.

PM Modi further said that during this 'Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav', it is necessary for the country to move forward on the path of duty so that our rights are protected.

The Prime Minister said that Constitution Day should have been celebrated each year after 1950 to educate all about what went into the making of the Constitution. But some people did not do so. This day should also be celebrated to evaluate whether what we do is right or not.
