News Agency ANI has quoted the top government sources saying, "the army has occupied these six positions on Finger 4 ridgeline since August 29. The new hill features being occupied by our troops include the Magar Hill, Gurung Hill, Recehen La, Rezang La, Mokhpari and the dominating height over Chinese positions near Finger 4."

According to the report, the significant development has allowed the Indian troops to have an edge over the Chinese army in those areas along the LAC.

The Black Top and the Helmet Top features are on the Chinese side of the LAC while the new heights occupied by the Indian Army are on the Indian side of the border, the report mentioned, adding that China's PLA's attempt to occupy the positions had lead to firing of bullets in the air on three occasions from the northern bank of Pangong to the southern bank of the lake.

Meanwhile, China's PLA (People's Liberation Army) has activated and deployed its additional troops in the past few weeks.
