'Have Right To Criticise, Not To Insult': BJP Attacks Rahul Gandhi Day After Expulsion Over 'Modi Surname' Remark

After Rahul Gandhi's first media interaction following his disqualification from the Lok Sabha, BJP slammed Gandhi and said, you have the right to criticise, but you do not have the right to insult.

After Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's first interaction with the media following his disqualification from the Lok Sabha after his conviction in a defamation case, Bharatiya Janata Party slammed the former Congress chief and said, you have the right to criticise, but you do not have the right to insult. Speaking to the media persons, BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said," Rahul Gandhi had said that why are all these Modi thieves? He insulted the backward society. You have the right to criticise, you don't have the right to insult. Rahul Gandhi had abused."

Continuing his attack on the Congress party, Prasad said that the leaders of this Party must be ashamed of making baseless remarks about PM Modi. "The leaders of this Party must be ashamed of making baseless remarks about PM Modi, a powerful leader who has taken the developmental journey of India to newer heights, whose stewardship has made India the 5th largest economy in the world." Congress is nothing but a Party of Cut, Corruption and Commission, he added.

Ravi Shankar Prasad said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi's whole life is an open book of honesty, there is not a speck, he is the PM of India for 9 years and the country is moving forward. Rahul Gandhi should be ashamed that he is talking about corruption, Rahul Gandhi is on bail in a corruption case."

Referring to former Congress chief's press conference today, Ravi Shankar Prasad stated that Rahul Gandhi said that he thinks before he speaks, so what Rahul Gandhi said in 2019, he must have said after thinking. "Rahul Gandhi has been punished for one of his speeches in 2019. In his press conference today, Rahul Gandhi said that he thinks before he speaks, so what Rahul Gandhi said in 2019, he must have said after thinking.

Prasad also said, "If Rahul Gandhi speaks thoughtfully, then BJP believes that Rahul Gandhi deliberately insulted the backward and condemns it."

Speaking on the matter of Pegasus, BJP leader said that Rahul Gandhi had complained that his phone had Pegasus. But he did not go to get his phone 'checked' when asked by the Supreme Court. "Rahul Gandhi had complained that his phone had Pegasus. But he did not go to get his phone 'checked' when asked by the Supreme Court, in case his phone really was marred by it. Why didn't he go? He actually was afraid," Prasad said.

Attacking the former Congress chief over his speech in London, former IT minister said that Rahul Gandhi again lied that he had not said anything in London. "Today Rahul Gandhi again lied that he did not say anything in London. Rahul Gandhi had said in London that democracy is weakening in India and European countries are not paying attention," Ravi Shankar Prasad said.

Earlier in the day, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on PM Modi and asked about his relationship with billionaire Gautam Adani.

Speaking at a press conference, Gandhi said, "What is the relationship between PM Modi and Gautam Adani. I showed a picture of PM Modi and Adani relaxing on a plane. Rahul Gandhi further said, 20,000 crore rupees is invested in shell companies owned by Adani, where has that money come from."

Rahul Gandhi also said that my job is to defend the democratic nature of the country which means defending the institutions of the country. "My job is to defend the democratic nature of the country which means defending the institutions of the country, defending the voice of the poor people of the country and telling people the truth about people like Adani who are exploiting the relationship they have with the PM," Rahul Gandhi said during his first interation with the media after being disqualified from the Lok Sabha.
