Ghaziabad: Woman Who 'Fabricated' Gang-Rape Story To Grab Property Arrested

Police had earlier stated that the Delhi woman's claim was "false." She made up the story to seize possession of property she was arguing over with the accused.

Ghaziabad Police in Delhi arrested a woman on Saturday after she allegedly levelled a "fabricated" gang-rape charge in an attempt to grab property, news agency ANI reported.

She was adimitted to Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital in Delhi.

"The woman was arrested by our police team from Delhi. The woman was admitted to GTB Hospital in Delhi, some time ago," Ghaziabad City SP Nipun Agarwal, ANI reported.

The police had declared on Thursday that the Delhi woman's claim "false." The woman claimed earlier this week that five men kidnapped and gang-raped her for two days. Police claimed that the woman made up the story in order to seize possession of property she was disputing with the accused.

The woman claimed that five men raped her for two days.

Police filed a case against a woman and three others on Friday after she allegedly levelled a "fabricated" gang-rape charge in an attempt to gain property. The National Commission for Women (NCW) also stated that the woman and her family members made contradictory statements, news agency PTI reported.

According to PTI, Circle Officer (City-2) Alok Dubey stated on Friday that the woman and her accomplices Azad, Afzal, and Gaurav were charged under Indian Penal Code sections 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 467 (forgery of valuable security), 468 (forgery for the purpose of cheating), and 471 (fraudulently or dishonestly using as genuine any document which the person knows or has reason to believe to be forged).

According to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital officials, the woman's condition is stable and no internal injuries have been discovered.

According to Nipun Agarwal, Superintendent of Police (City-I) Ghaziabad, the victim claimed that after raping her, the accused inserted an iron rod in her private part, but she refused to be medically examined at a Meerut hospital.

"Doctors then referred her to the Meerut Medical college for treatment but she refused to go there as well. The woman was then taken to a Delhi hospital," the SP had said, PTI reported.
