'Decision out of fear, not from the heart'
Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi tweeted, "This is a decision out of fear, not from the heart. The recovery is to answer the government's loot in the coming elections." Priyanka Gandhi has been constantly attacking the issue of inflation and unemployment. Now, she has slammed the Modi government for reducing petrol prices.

States that also reduced the fuel price:
Shortly after the central government reduced excise duty on fuel, the prices of petrol and diesel were also brought down in several BJP ruled states. These include Uttar Pradesh, Manipur, Goa, Uttarakhand, Karnataka, Assam and Tripura. Diesel prices have been reduced here by up to Rs 7.

Petrol and diesel cheaper by Rs 12 in UP
After the reduction of excise duty by the Centre, the Uttar Pradesh government also reduced VAT on petrol and diesel by Rs 7 and Rs 2 respectively. Thus, in Uttar Pradesh, the prices of diesel and petrol will go down by Rs 12 per litre.
