Former SC judge Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghose to be appointed India's first Lokpal, official announcement likely tomorrow
His name was finalised and recommended by the Selection Committee comprising of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, eminent jurist Mukul Rohatgi.
New Delhi: Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghose, the former Supreme Court judge, is likely to be appointed as the country’s first Lokpal. Today, he was recommended to be the first Lokpal or anti-corruption ombudsman of India. The government is likely to make the official announcement regarding the same tomorrow.
His name was finalised and recommended by the Selection Committee comprising of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, eminent jurist Mukul Rohatgi.
Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress member, who is part of the committee, did not attend the meeting.
