Jammu: Jammu & Kashmir National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah was paying homage to Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru on the occasion of Martyr's day when he once again levelled allegations against the central government.
"We are being divided into pieces. Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs are being divided," he said.
Farooq Abdullah attended the 40th foundation day celebrations of the J&K National Panthers Party in Jammu where he spoke about several matters concerning the union territory.

The former J&K Chief Minister brought up the issue of succession to India saying: "Why did Maharaja Hari Singh not opt to go with India in 1947; He wanted an independent J&K with good relations with Pakistan and China. But Pakistan was the culprit and wanted to destroy us. At that time Sheikh Abdullah said that we will go with India as it is the country where people from all religions live".
Criticising the withdrawal of special privileges given to the state, he added that the then Maharaja "came with a law in 1927 to save our culture. But now people from outside will come and get jobs here. Where will our children go, where will they get jobs?". "They are making blind laws, where will poor people go," he asked.
He also hit at the Congress party for becoming "weak" as he spoke: "I am saying this honestly. Congress will have to wake up and stand strong if they want to save the country. They will have to look after the problems faced by people. This won't happen while sitting at home".

"We can never forget what Jawahar Lal Nehru has done for this country. Indira Gandhi brought Green Revolution we can never forget that," Farooq Abdullah said honouring their contribution.
He once again brought up the centre's decisions on Jammu & Kashmir's statehood wherein the former CM warned the gathering saying: "They (BJP) can break the state into two but can't break us. They will come and will play the religious card and will ask for votes in the name of Ram but you have to be careful".
