The Rashtriya Janata Dal party workers, led by party leaders Tejashwi Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav, got into an ugly clash with the Bihar police on Tuesday morning. The Patna police had to resort to lathicharge on the party workers while they were holding march towards the Legislative Assembly to protest against unemployment, inflation, fuel price hike and problems being faced by the people of Bihar due to the Coronavirus pandemic.


Despite the administration's denial to hold the protest owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the RJD leaders gathered in large numbers to JP Golambar to encircle the Legislative Assembly and protest against the ruling government.


According to the visuals surfaced from the incident site, the RJD workers created ruckus as they resorted to violence and attacked cops.


The protesters broke the police barricading and pelted stones on the cops following which, the policemen used water cannon to disperse the crowd. The cops even resorted to lathicharge to control the demonstrators.


The RJD's 'Vidhan Sabha gherao' march started from JP roundabout near the Gandhi Maidan after the party have a call for protest against civic issues such as unemployment, inflation, fuel price hike among others. The leader of opposition in the Legislative Assembly, Tejashwi on Monday tweeted saying "Don’t stop, don’t hold on or bend in front of autocratic government."
