Father, son flee with brand new Mercedes in the name of test drive; arrested

New Delhi: A father-son duo allegedly made away with a brand new ‘Mercedes Benz’ car worth Rs 40 lakh from a showroom in southwest Delhi's Dwarka area on the pretext of test drive, have been arrested. The incident took place on May 6, when the accused, identified as Anil Anand (54) and Sahil Anand (23), approached a showroom representative and drove away with the Mercedes Benz model after asking for a test drive. After hours of waiting the showroom sent teams searching for the duo but, they managed to escape. According to DCP (southwest) Surendra Kumar, a trap was laid on the basis of a tip-off and the accused were arrested from Gurgaon yesterday. The car has also been recovered from their possession.
