Farmers' Protest: Kejriwal Alleges False Cases Filed Against Protestors; Sisodia, Satyendra Jain Visit Protest Sites

The Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has tweeted in support of farmers alleging that it is wrong to file cases against farmers who have been protesting peacefully along the borders for so long. The Delhi Deputy CM also visited the Ghazipur protest site to ensure farmers are getting water and electricity.

As farmers continue their ongoing protest against the farm laws after the violence on Republic Day, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal showed solidarity with the farmers and said that the Aam Admi Party government is in support of the farmers and their cause.

Delhi CM Kejriwal responded to BKU leader Rakesh Tikait's tweet where he said that the Delhi government is making arrangements for water and electricity for the protesting farmers at the Delhi borders after the local administration disconnected all the basic facilities and ordered the protestors to vacate the sites.

The Delhi CM said, "We stand with the farmers protesting at the borders, and their demands were valid. It is absolutely wrong to discredit the farmers' movement, call the peasants traitors and file false cases against the leaders who have been agitating peacefully for so many days."

Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia visits Ghazipur protest site

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Friday visited the Ghazipur border, to check the arrangements made for them by the city government.

Talking to reporters, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader said the farmers' protest has the full support of the Delhi government.

"The AAP supports the protesting farmers and I have come here to check the arrangements made by the Delhi government. I have checked the arrangements of drinking water, toilets, and other basic amenities for the farmers," he said.

Delhi Health Minister visits Singhu border

Delhi Minister Satyendar Jain & AAP MLA Raghav Chadha also visited the Singhu border where farmers are protesting against farm laws. "We're here to inspect arrangement of water & toilets done by us. Police stopped movement of water tankers so that they can't reach here" said Satyendra  Jain.

The Delhi Health Minister also accused BJP to cause discomfort to the protestors. Jain said, "Police personnel are not allowing movement of water tankers, we are being told that they have been ordered by higher authorities to do so. There is no direction from any authority, it is BJP's order. We will not let anyone die of hunger and thirst"

Kejriwal's outreach to farmers

Earlier, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday said that those guilty of causing violence in the national capital during the farmers’ Republic Day tractor parade must be punished and said that the incident was unfortunate. However, he said that incident does not put an end to the protest against the agricultural laws enacted by the Centre in September last year and urged for support to the farmers in a peaceful manner.
