Farmers' Protests: The ongoing agitation against the Centre’s farm laws is being scaled up by the protesters as they have failed to reach any breakthrough all this while despite holding five rounds of talks with the Centre. The farmer unions are adamant on total rollback of the three laws, and have discarded any kind of amendments in the laws as offered by the government.

The protest has entered nineteenth straight day and is now attracting international attention as the deadlock continues.

Intensification of Protests:  As a part of intensification of protests, dharnas will be staged at all district headquarters across the country and the farmers will submit a memorandum of demands addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Hunger Strike Today:  The heads of all farmer unions protesting against the Centre's new agriculture laws will observe a one-day hunger strike Monday, farmer leader Gurnam Singh Chaduni said, as the agitating peasantry and the administration prepared for an escalation in the protest from December 14. The hunger strike between 8 am and 5 pm is part of the farmers' plan to intensify their agitation from Monday.

Farmers plan to block Jaipur highway; Police step up vigil on Delhi-Haryana border points: The Delhi Police stepped up vigil on the national capital's border with Haryana on Sunday as farmers plan to block the Jaipur National Highway-8, which passes through Gurgaon.

Kejriwal to also hold Hunger strike today:  Kejriwal said he will hold one-day fast on Monday in response to a call given by the agitating farmers and urged his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) volunteers as well as the people of the country to join in.

Kejriwal asked Govt to scrap farm laws: Kejriwal asked the BJP-ruled Centre to shun "arrogance" and scrap the three farm laws as demanded by the agitating farmers, and also bring a Bill to guarantee minimum support price (MSP) for agricultural produce.

BJP to hold farmers' meets in UP to raise awareness on agri laws: To make people aware about the recent farm laws brought by the Centre, the ruling BJP will organise farmers' meets at various places in Uttar Pradesh, the party said in a statement issued here on Sunday. These "kisan sammelan" will begin on Monday and continue till December 18.

Protesting farmers send back group of Jamia students from UP Gate: A group of six students of Jamia Millia Islamia, including girls, had arrived at UP Gate to extend support to the farmers by singing and playing 'dafli' (tambourine), but the farmers refused to allow them to join their agitation.
