UP Govt Orders DMs, SSPs To Clear All Protest Sites On Delhi Borders By Tonight

Ghaziabad District Magistrate Ajay Shankar Pandey has communicated to the protestors camping at the UP Gate at Delhi border to vacate the spot by tonight or the administration will remove them.

New Delhi: Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday all District Magistrates (DMs) and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSPs) to clear all protest sites on the state's borders with Delhi which are currently blocked by farmers. The state government has ordered all DMs and SSPs to ensure the end of all the farmers' agitations in the state, news agency ANI quoted officials as saying. Ghaziabad District Magistrate Ajay Shankar Pandey has communicated to the protestors camping at the UP Gate at Delhi border to vacate the spot by tonight or the administration will remove them," a district official told news agency PTI.

"A notice has been served to them (farmers) under Section 133 of CrPC (conditional order for removal of nuisance)," Ghaziabad ADM City Shailendra Kumar Singh told reporters.

The UP govt came into action two days after the violence during the 'Kisan Gantantra parade' on the occasion of the Republic Day at several locations in the national capital. On the condition of anonimity, a Police official told news agency IANS that yes they have recieved orders from the government to get all the farmers protest site on the borders of the state vacated.

Earlier in the day, there was heavy deployment of security personnel, comprising the Uttar Pradesh and Delhi Police, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Rapid Action Force at the Ghazipur protest site where large group of farmers are protesting against the three agri laws passed by Centre last year.

Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) spokesperson Rakesh Tikait, who has been named in the FIR by the Delhi Police in connection with the Republic Day violence, also made a presence at the Ghazipur border, after going underground for last two days.
