Farmer Protest: Haryana May Withdraw Cases Registered Against Farmers, Hints CM Manohar Lal Khattar

Haryana News: Cases registered by Haryana government against farmers during agitation can be withdrawn. Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar has hinted at this.

Haryana News: An important step is soon being taken by the Haryana government to meet the demands of the farmers' movement. Farmers demand that the cases registered against them during the agitation should be withdrawn. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has hinted at accepting these demands. Manohar Lal Khattar said he would sympathetically consider the farmers' demand to withdraw the cases registered with the police during the year-long agitation of farmers.

Manohar Lal Khattar was asked about Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar's statement that it is within the purview of state governments to call off cases against farmers. Khattar replied to a question, "That's right. Withdrawing cases falls within the purview of states.'

Manohar Lal Khattar said farmers have not yet ended their agitation as they are still protesting in support of their other demands after the Centre repealed three farm laws. Khattar said, "When the farmers' agitation reaches its final stage, we will do what our government has to do from its side. However, they have not ended their protest so far. We will consider all these things sympathetically.''

BJP's woes lessen

BJP's Haryana unit chief Om Prakash Dhankar has also hinted at the return of cases registered against farmers. "As the state BJP chief, I am saying that all these things will be considered," he said.

Parliament on Monday passed the Repeal of Farm Law Bill, 2021 repealing all three controversial agricultural laws. This move by central government may ease the difficulties of the Haryana government.
