EXCLUSIVE: Salman Khurshid Clarifies Controversy Over His Book, Says Never Called Hindutva A Terrorist Organisation

Salman Khurshid Book: Salman Khurshid said that in his book he wrote that those who misuse Hinduism support ISIS and Boko Haram. He clarified that he did not use the word 'terrorist' in his book.

Salman Khurshid Book Controversy: Congress leader and former External Affairs Minister, Salman Khurshid is in controversy again. The issue is over Salman Khurshid's book 'Sunrise Over Ayodhya'. Salman Khurshid in his book has compared Hindutva to terror groups ISIS and Boko Haram and described Hindutva politics as dangerous. Salman Khurshid has now clarified the entire controversy in an exclusive interview with ABP News. Khurshid said I have never called Hindutva a terrorist organization. I waited for the Supreme Court order to write this book.

The word terrorist is not in my book - Khurshid

Salman Khurshid said, "I wrote in my book that those who misuse Hinduism support ISIS and Boko Haram. There is no terrorist word in my book. " He added, "I want to include people in the book. My book mentions Mahatma Gandhi. Rama is also mentioned. Rather the entire Ramayana has been mentioned in the book. But people who believe in Hinduism are not even talking about it.''

Khurshid on Rahul Gandhi's statement:

Salman Khurshid said, "My party and I are one. I fully agree with what my party wants, what it does, and what it says. I can't be separated from the party or say anything different from the party. I have tried in the book to mention what my party says and thinks." He said, "If the Congress does not agree, I won't say it, but the party has indeed supported it. Rahul Gandhi has said that if Hinduism and Hindutva are not separate, then why do we need two names? In my book, I have praised Hindutva and said that it should be widely accepted. If Rahul Gandhi has insulted Hinduism, it is an insult to him too, because he himself is a Hindu.''

Kurshid on Ghulam Nabi Azad's statement?

On Ghulam Nabi Azad's statement, Congress leader Khurshid said, "When Azadji used to issue statements, there used to be G-23. Today it's just G-1. That means he is all alone now. Where did the rest of the people go? He is my partner and my senior leader. I respect what he said.'' In his statement, Azad had said, "It is wrong to compare Hindutva with Jihadist Islam. We may not agree with Hindutva as a political ideology, but comparing it with ISIS and Jihadist Islam is factually wrong."

What Salman Khurshid wrote in the book?

In his book, Salman Khurshid said that Sanatan Dharma and classical Hinduism known to sages and saints were being pushed aside by a robust version of Hindutva, by all standards a political version similar to the jihadist Islam of groups like ISIS and Boko Haram of recent years When asked the reason behind it, Salman said, "Hinduism is a religion of a very high level. There can be no more inspiration than the inspiration given by Gandhiji for this. If someone puts a new label on it, why should I believe it? If someone insults Hinduism, even I will speak. I said that those who do politics of Hindutva are wrong and ISIS is also wrong."
