Earthquake of magnitude 5.8 jolts Delhi-NCR and northern parts of India
New Delhi: Tremors jolted Delhi-NCR and parts of northern India at 10:35 pm on Monday. The tremors were felt continuously for thirty seconds.
As per National Seismological Bureau, the epicentre of the earthquake was Rudraprayag of Uttarakhand. The quake reportedly shook Uttarakhand, Punjab, Delhi and the national capital region.
As per initial reports, the magnitude of the earthquake was 5.8 on Richter scale. As per IMD the tremors took place at the depth of 33 kms.
People in Uttarakhad evacuated their houses as the earthquake struck the city with the maximum intensity.
