This is one of the biggest drug busts after the revelation of drug use in the Sushant Singh Rajput case. For the investigation, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) wrote to the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) to look into the drug angle in the case. The NCB on Wednesday then registered an NDPS case against Rhea Chakraborty, and two others on the basis of an ED request to probe the drug angle in the death case.
Rhea's lawyer Satish Maneshinde released a statement on the new drug angle. It read, "Rhea has never consumed drugs in her lifetime ever. She’s ready for a blood test at any time."
Meanwhile, reports suggest that Rhea’s ‘drug circle’ is booked under NDPS Act. The Whatsapp chats of Rhea recovered allegedly indicate that she was taking instructions from someone to administer a drug to the late actor. The ED had earlier registered a case of money laundering on July 31 on the basis of a Bihar Police FIR filed by Sushant's father KK Singh who alleged transactions of Rs 15 crore with some bank accounts with which Sushant had no connection.
