Covid Crisis: Delhi on Wednesday recorded its highest single-day spike, since the start of the pandemic, with 17,282 fresh cases and 104 deaths. Considering the gruesome situation in the national capital, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal announced a weekend curfew in the city.


Kejriwal said that weekend curfew is currently the only way to curtail the fourth wave of Coronavirus in the national capital.

What's open and what will remain closed?



  • The Delhi CM announced that all markets and shopping malls will remain closed.

  • Gyms, spas, and auditorium will also be shut during weekends in Delhi.

  • Weekly markets to operate alternate weeks following all covid guidelines

  • The dine-in facility has been restricted in restaurants, customers can opt for home delivery services.

  • Private offices will be asked to work from home

  • Cinemas halls to operate at 30% capacity only.

  • Curfew passes will be issued to those rendering essential services.

  • No pass required for movement for medical purposes.


The restrictions will be imposed during weekends till further announcement. CM Kejriwal further assured that there are adequate number of beds available for the covid patients in Delhi's hospitals.
