Delhi Police Detains 25-Year-Old 'Unruly' Passenger Who Forced Air India Flight To Return Midway
As per the authorities, the passenger was not heeding to verbal and written warnings and continued behaving unruly thus forcing the flight to return back to Delhi.
Delhi Police on Monday detained a 25-year-old passenger namely Jaskeerat Singh for unruly behaviour on the Air India London bound flight. As per the authorities, the passenger was not heeding to verbal and written warnings and continued behaving unruly thus forcing the flight to return back to Delhi, news agency ANI reported.
"He was travelling to London with his parents. The passenger belongs to Kapurthala, Punjab. Air India has officially complained to them and legal action will be initiated accordingly. He was deboarded from the plane," Delhi Police stated.

The flight AI 111 was scheduled to operate Delhi-London Heathrow on April 10, 2023, the airline said.

When the pilot in command opted to return to Delhi, the passenger was turned over to security officers. A police complaint has also been filed. Despite verbal and written warnings, the passenger proceeded with his disruptive behaviour, inflicting physical harm to two cabin crew members.
Air India issued a statement in response to the occurrence and said: "Safety, security and dignity of all on board is important to us at Air India. We are providing all possible support to the affected crew members. We regret the inconvenience caused to the passengers and have rescheduled the flight to depart for London this afternoon."
This is not the first time such a commotion has occurred on an Air India flight. Previously, in January, a man named Shankar Mishra was detained on suspicion of urinating on a woman aboard an AI aircraft on November 26 of last year. On January 6, this year, the Delhi Police apprehended him. Mishra urinated on a 70-year-old woman aboard an Air India aircraft on November 26 last year while drunk.
