Delhi Odd-Even: No Restrictions Today & Tomorrow In View Of Guru Nanak Jayanti Celebrations

The vehicle rationing scheme was also not applicable on Sunday.

New Delhi: The odd-even vehicle rationing scheme will not be in effect for two days- on Monday and Tuesday  (November 11 and November 12) in view of the celebrations of 550th anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev. The scheme was also not applicable on Sunday. The Odd-Even scheme is a traffic rationing measure by Arvind Kejriwal-led government under which private vehicles with registration numbers ending with an odd digit (1, 3, 5, 7, 9) will be allowed on roads on odd dates and those with an even digit (0, 2, 4, 6, 8) on even dates. The rules will also apply to vehicles with registration numbers of other states. Violation of the scheme attracts a penalty of Rs 4,000, which is double the amount charged in the earlier editions of the scheme. The Odd-Even scheme kicked off on November 4 amid severe pollution problems faced by the city and will remain in force till November 15. The rule will be applicable in Delhi from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. However, the rule will not be enforced on Sundays. Around 297 challans were issued for violations of odd-even on Saturday, the sixth day of Odd-Even scheme. On Wednesday, 406 challans were issued. The Delhi Traffic Police had issued 233 challans on the first day of the scheme which will go on till November 15.
