Delhi Metro's Blue & Pink Line Resume Operation After 171 Days; Check Routes, Timings Here
After being shut for 171 days, Delhi Metro has started the Blue and Pink lines. The DMRC had started metro services with the yellow line from September 7.
New Delhi: The Blue Line and Pink Line of Delhi Metro starts operation from today after being closed for 171 days due to Covid 19 the pandemic. The Delhi Metro had resumed operations on the Yellow Line from September 7, and had decided to continue in a graded manner.
In an official statement released on Tuesday, DMRC reportedly said "As part of stage-I of graded resumption of metro services, Delhi metro will resume operations after 171 days on its Blue Line - from Dwarka Sec 21 to Electronic City/Vaishali & Pink Line - from Majlis Park to Shiv Vihar from tomorrow." The DMRC also tweeted about it.
Trains are to operate in batches of four-hour each from 7-11 AM in the morning and 4-8 PM in the evening in the first stage. The Ministry of Home Affairs had recently issued guidelines allowing the Delhi Metro to resume operations in a graded manner, following which the DMRC had said it would be done in three stages from September 7-12. In the morning, metro services will be available from 7 AM to 11 AM. In the evening, the trains will run from 4 PM to 8 PM. Metro Services On Pink Line DMRC will operate metro trains on its Pink Line (Line 7) from Majlis Park to Shiv Vihar in two slots of four hours each. In the morning, metro services will be available from 7 AM to 11 AM. In the evening, the trains will run from 4 PM to 8 PM.The Blue and Pink lines resumed services today. Under stage one, Yellow Line or Line 2 and Rapid Metro were made operational with restricted service hours -- 7-11 AM and 4-8 PM. According to a report by PTI, while nearly 15,500 passengers availed the Yellow Line and Rapid Metro combined on Monday, the figures stood at nearly 17,600 on Tuesday. Metro services in Delhi-NCR was closed since March 22 due to the pandemic. The DMRC has appealed to people to use rapid transport only if urgently needed. In addition to above lines, DMRC in its planned stage 1 will resume metro train services on Red Line, Green Line and Violet Line from Thursday September 10
