On Manoj Tiwari's 5 Times Subsidy Promise, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal Dare BJP To Do This First
Delhi CM took to Twitter and remind Tiwari of what his AAP government is giving as subsidy and asked the saffron party to implement the same in any BJP-ruled states before Delhi goes to polls.
New Delhi: A day after Manoj Tiwari promised to give residents of the national capital five-times more benefits than what the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government is giving, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal slammed the Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chief of 'making fun' of public by making such baseless claims.
Tiwari had on Monday said that if BJP comes to power in 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, his party would give five times of the subsidies than what AAP government is giving currently.
Responding to Tiwari's poll promise, Kejriwal asked him to implement these subsidies first in BJP-ruled states. Delhi CM took to Twitter and remind Tiwari of what his AAP government is giving as subsidy and asked the saffron party to implement the same in any BJP-ruled states before Delhi goes to polls.
"Five times more subsidy. Meaning? Instead of 200 units you will give 1000 units free. Instead of 20 thousand litres, 1 lakh litres of water will be given free? You are making fun of the public with such promises. Implement it before Delhi elections in any one BJP ruled state?", he said tagging a news report about Tiwari promising five times the present subsidy.

Taking about the reply to an RTI application filed by the BJP against Kejriwal and his government, Tiwari said that his party was in favour of announcing subsidies for water and electricity consumers.
"The BJP is not against subsidies. In fact, if we come to power, we will give five times more relief to water and electricity consumers," he had said.
However, Delhi BJP chief's claim comes as yet another mismatch of statements within party leadership as days ago Vijay Goel had said that the BJP will not give subsidies to people, but will create such an environment that electricity will be cheaper in Delhi.
The city will go for polls on February 8 and the ruling AAP and opposition BJP are the main contenders along with the Congress. The Kejriwal government has given free electricity up to 200 units and free water up to 20,000 litres to the city.
