New Delhi:  In a shocking incident, a 44-year-old businessman was allegedly shot dead by three bike-borne persons on Monday night. Rajul Gupta, the deceased, was shot in the chest by three bike-borne persons as he fell on the entry gate of his house in Jyoti Nagar, while parking his scooter. Gupta was the owner of an electronics showroom in the area. The attackers escaped with the businessman’s gold chain while his bag containing cash and documents were found at the spot of the crime. Rajul’s family initially felt he suffered a heart attack but realized she was shot after observing blood stains on his shirt. According to Rajul's family, they tried to rob him initially and later fired at him. Police suspect the murder to be a fallout of personal enmity and not robbery as the assailants left behind the victim’s bag containing cash. Police stated that they had received information from a hospital about a person being shot at. A murder case has been registered in this regard, it said. More details are currently awaited.
