UK New Coronavirus Strain: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday urged the Centre to ban all the flights from UK in the wake of the new 'highly infectious' Covid-19 strain. "New mutation of corona virus has emerged in UK, which is a super-spreader. I urge central govt to ban all flights from UK immediately," Kejriwal tweeted.

On the spread of the mutant coronavirus strain in UK, Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan said that the government is alert and there is no need to panic.


Meanwhile, the Union health ministry called for an emergency meeting of its Joint Monitoring Group (JMG). The emergency Joint Monitoring Group meeting in India, is to be chaired by the Director General of Health Services. Experts from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the World Health Organisation (WHO) representative and others.
