NEW DELHI: The Archbishop of Delhi has written a letter that refers to a "turbulent political atmosphere" where he is urging all priests to "pray for the country" ahead of the 2019 national election. Delhi Archbishop Anil Couto calls for prayers ahead of the 2019 Elections In the letter, the Archbishop, Anil Couto, also asks for a prayer campaign and a day of fasting every week "for the nation". The letter says "we are witnessing a turbulent political atmosphere which poses a threat to the democratic principles enshrined in the constitution and the secular fabric of the nation” As per reports, the letter dated 8 May was during masses throughout the archdiocese on Sunday, 13.
