Rail Services To Resume Partially From Today; Here's Complete List Of Passenger Trains, Routes
In a fresh notice issued on Monday, Ministry of Railways stated that Passenger services on Indian Railways shall be partially restored with effect from 12th May 2020 in a graded manner.
New Delhi: After about two months of complete lockdown announced due to surging coronavirus cases, the Indian railways will resume passenger train operations from Tuesday. In a fresh notice issued on Monday, Ministry of Railways stated that Passenger services on Indian Railways shall be partially restored with effect from 12th May 2020 in a graded manner.
Taking to the official Twitter handle, Ministry in the circular said that as of now, 15 pairs of special trains shall be operated to 15 cities. Only online E-Ticketing will be done through IRCTC website.
According to the official statement from Indian Railways, timings of Special Trains to be run from May 12 will be as following: (Source: Ministry of Railways) The Indian Railways had on Sunday said that after the resumption of these 15 services, railways will start more special services on new routes, based on the available coaches after reserving 20,000 coaches for COVID-19 care centres and an adequate number of coaches being reserved to enable operation of up to 300 trains every day as Shramik Special for stranded migrants. The authorities asserted that passengers will be screened and only those who are asymptomatic will be allowed to enter or board a train. It further stated that only those with confirmed e-tickets shall be allowed to enter the station. The movement of the passengers and the driver of the vehicle transporting the passengers to and fro the railway station shall be allowed on the basis of the confirmed e-ticket.Passenger services on Indian Railways shall be partially restored w.e.f. from 12th May 2020 in a graded manner. 15 pairs of special trains shall be operated to 15 cities.
