Delhi: 14 Medical Staff Of RML Hospital Sent For Quarantine After Getting Exposed To Covid-19 Patient

As per the information received, one of the nurses developed fever since Sunday evening, so the entire team has been asked to go quarantine themselves at their homes.

New Delhi: As the novel coronavirus in India continue to infect people across the country, fourteen medical staffers of New Delhi’s RML Hospital have been sent into home quarantine. The fourteen staffers include doctors and nurses of the hospital who were part of a team treating COVID-19 patients at the hospital. Their samples are being tested, official sources said. As per the information received,  one of the nurses developed fever since Sunday evening, so the entire team has been asked to go quarantine themselves at their homes. Delhi has reported 72 COVID-19 cases after it saw a spike of 23 cases in a single day. Out of this, two have died, one has migrated and give have been discharged. Delhi has sent 2,049 samples for the test and received results of 1,680 while the remaining 369 test results are awaited. Hyatt Regency and Fairdeal Hotel have been acquired for the doctors/medical staff of Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences. The Piccadily hotel and Lemon Tree Hotel have been acquired for the doctors/staff of Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences. Centre suspends two Delhi officials for dereliction of duty during lockdown: The Centre on Sunday suspended two senior Delhi government officers and served showcause notices on two others for "serious lapses" in duty during the ongoing lockdown. A Home Ministry spokesperson said the two officers who have been suspended with immediate effect are: Additional Chief Secretary (Transport) and Principal Secretary (Finance), who also holds the post of Divisional Commissioner. The two officers who have been served with showcause notices are Additional Chief Secretary (Home and Land Buildings) and SDM (Seelampur). The Central government has initiated disciplinary proceedings against the four officers of Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) for dereliction of duty regarding containment of the spread of COVID-19, the spokesperson said.
