Controversial Facebook post by youth rakes up violence is Uttarakhand, heavy police deployed

Uttarakhand: Massive violence and ruckus could be observed in Uttarakhand on Sunday after a ‘controversial’ picture shared by a youth on Facebook went viral. The picture was shared on various social media platforms before it ignited the Akhil Vidyarthi Bhartiya Parishad workers. Siting the picture as the reason behind their angst, the locals of Uttarakhand and workers of Akhil Vidyarthi Bhartiya Parishad, took to roads and started raising slogans. The people also indulged in lighting fire and breaking things around, escalating the matter further. The people could be seen flocked together and breaking the vegetable shops around and spilling everything on roads. Looking at the seriousness of the situation the SSP and DM reached the spot and attempted to pacify the locals. Speaking to ABP News, SSP Jagat Ram said “the situation is under control for now”. The police has started its probe on the matter, but no action has been taken against the youth yet.
