Congress Makes 'Frequent Flyer' Jibe At PM Modi Ahead Of His Maiden Brunei, Singapore Visits
The Congress slammed PM Modi for seemingly prioritising visits to foreign nations, Brunei and Singapore the latest among them, over the violence-torn Manipur.
The Congress on Tuesday, September 3, took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra over his maiden visit to Brunei. From Brunei, PM Modi will fly to Singapore after his Brunei visit. Calling PM Modi a "frequent flyer", Congress said that "the non-biological PM" can fly to foreign nations but can't visit the violence-torn Manipur.
"The non-biological PM is making what is being billed as a 'historic' visit to Brunei, after which he goes to Singapore. When is our frequent flyer going to make a 'humanitarian' visit to the troubled state of Manipur," Congress leader Jairam Ramesh asked in an X post.

When is our frequent flyer going to make a 'humanitarian' visit to the troubled state of Manipur?
The situation in Manipur continues to be very tense,…
Alleging that the violence-hit people were still living in extremely poor conditions at the refugee camps in Manipur, Jairam Ramesh said: "The situation in Manipur continues to be very tense, despite claims to the contrary being made by the CM of Manipur. Today is exactly 16 months since the eruption of violence in Manipur, which has resulted in the deaths of hundreds and the displacement of thousands of people who live in abysmal conditions in relief camps."
"It is beyond belief that Mr. Narendra Modi has still not found the time or the inclination to go to the state and interact with political parties, civil society groups, and the people themselves [sic]," Jairam Ramesh added.
PM Modi on Tuesday embarked on his maiden visit to Brunei. After that, he will visit Singapore. "Over the next two days, will be visiting Brunei Darussalam and Singapore. During the various engagements in these nations, the focus will be on further deepening India’s ties with them," he posted on X.
