He had earlier suffered a DVT due excess air travel.

New Delhi: Punjab Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu, who has been busy doing intensive election campaigns for the ongoing assembly election has reportedly damaged his vocal cords and is currently undergoing a treatment over the same. Sidhu, known for his poetic speeches, was on an intensive 17-day election campaign, wherein he addressed more than 70 back to back public meetings. The cricketer-turned-politician injured his vocal cords due to the exhaustive poll campaigning for the Congress party.  As per reports, the doctors have told him that he was on the brink of losing his voice and have suggested a complete 3 to 5 day rest to him. Earlier, Sidhu had undergone a embolism treatment, as continuous helicopter and plane travel has been detrimental to his health. He had earlier suffered a DVT due excess air travel. Sidhus has undergone a series of haematology (blood) tests which require sincere evaluation, as per his doctors. As per sources, the Congress leader has gone to an undisclosed location for a complete check up and recovery. He is being administered specialised medication, along with breathing exercises and physiotherapy.
