Bullock-Operated Electric Car: What To Do If EV Battery Runs Out? Check Out This Hilarious Desi Jugad

The electric vehicle broke down mid-journey, leaving the driver stranded on the road without any immediate access to towing services.

In an unusual incident in Rajasthan, a high-end electric vehicle was seen being towed by bullocks after it broke down mid-journey. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media, sparking conversations about the reliability of electric vehicles, especially in rural and semi-urban settings .

The electric car reportedly belonged to Anil Singh Medtia, who serves as the opposition leader of the Kuchaman Nagar Parishad in Deedwana district of the state. He was driving the car through the city when it stopped functioning after getting jammed, leaving him stranded on the road with the immobile vehicle without any immediate access to towing services.

It was then that the locals stepped in to help him and brought their oxen to tow the car off the road. This unusual visual of an electric car made using cutting-edge technology being towed using traditional methods captured the attention of the passers-by who captured the incident involving the 'desi jugad' on their phones.

According to a report by India Today, Medtia claimed that the car had been to the service centre at least 16 times in a span of one year due to its recurring issues. He also stated that the vehicle shut down on December 28 even though it was fully charged.

Medtia said that the car had fell short of its promised mileage and did not perform as the company had advertised.

"The company has not provided any proper response. The car consistently failed to meet the mileage promised by the manufacturer," India Today reported, quoting Medtia as he voiced his dissatisfaction with the car's repeated failures.

“The vehicle has been a constant source of trouble,” he lamented.

The video drew humours as well as critical reactions from netizens. While some of them  praised the traditional ways, some raised questions over the viability of the electronic vehicles in areas where infrastructure is limited.
